Marketing strategy for beginners

Updated: Nov 5, 2021

Step 1: Know where to spend most of your time.

Do you know where your customers hang out? Creating a strategy for each area will be helpful to focus on where to spend your time.

  • Instagram - 25-34 / 57% Female

  • Facebook - 25-34 / 56% Male

  • TikTok - 18-24 / 59% Female

  • YouTube - 15-25 / Both

  • LinkedIn - 46-55 / 51% Male

  • Pinterest - 30-49 / 78% Female

  • Twitter - 30-49 / 68% Male

  • Snapchat - 13-34 / 58% Female

Knowing what kind of content will need to be created for different platforms is helpful in your planning.

Step 2: Start Planning ahead.

Plan 6 months of your marketing with an outline of:

  • Promotions

  • Calendar events / public holidays

  • Product/service launch

Now plan out your months with the important dates and then weekly with what you will advertise.

Working back allows you more time to create content for upcoming events and not leaving it to the last minute.

Step 3: Implement your plan.

We have all heard it...Be Consistent! I know you don't want to hear another person saying it BUT it will get you the results you are wanting. That is why planning out your months in advance is so helpful.

  • Schedule time to create the content (Videos, Photos, Blogs, emails)

  • Schedule time to post content (or use a scheduling app like Later or facebook creator studio)

  • Schedule time to actually spend engaging on the app and not scrolling.

You do not have to get overwhelmed with marketing when you have a clear plan and time scheduled to implement it.

Of course this is just an overview of a strategy, if you want the real thing then I am ready to work with you and create a strategy that works for your business. Learn more here.
